Located above the sprawling Chesterfield Valley, this grand residence displays a classical elegance with its precise detailing and use of materials. The symmetrical elevation displays the owner's desire to maintain an inviting environment as you move through the wide courtyard into the main entrance.
Once a program was established that met the needs of the client, the plan began to flow together seamlessly. With the site sitting nearly one hundred feet above the lower valley, views to the exterior landscape became imperative, especially the centrally located Grand Salon. This space is on an intentional axis from the main entry to draw the eye through the spaces and out the rear door toward the valley. On the main floor, the Grand Salon serves as a fulcrum for all the other spaces as they are situated in a radial fashion around it.
Currently, Schaub+Srote Architects have this project in the Construction Administration phase (also known as Construction Observation). This is a service that we highly recommend to our clients, especially as a project increases in complexity and scale. Construction Administration or CA, involves on-site coordination with the general contractor as we help them interpret the construction documents in a manner that directly reflects the owner’s wishes and our design intent. This phase is a mutual collaboration between us as architects and the highly skilled general contractors that our clientele demand.
