Joe is a well versed architectural designer who has gained experience throughout the mid-west over a career spanning nine years. Upon graduating with his Bachelor of Architecture from Drury University in 2004, Joe went to work for a firm in Chicago specializing in high-end residential architecture along the north-shore. While there, Joe gained valuable experience in all phases of the design process as well as coordinating with clients and consultants.
In 2007, Joe decided to return to St. Louis to be closer to his family. Joe increased his "green" knowledge working for a firm that specialized in high performance consulting. His responsibilities there included assessing existing home performance via energy audits, conveying results to owners, and managing the installation of high performance retrofits, as well as verification of new home construction as Energy Star compliant including training subcontractors on proper installation details.
Joe's professional accomplishments include being an accredited professional in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP Homes). This credential involves certification in the design and construction of healthy, durable homes that use fewer resources and produce less waste, contributing to healthy environments for building occupants and the community. Joe is also a certified Rater for the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) Home Energy Rating System (HERS), a certified Building Performance Institute (BPI) professional and is currently taking his licensure examinations to become a licensed architect.
At Srote & Co Architects, Joe will be handling construction documents, instituting green building office standards, and managing projects.
