This Contemporary Tudor Revival inspired home located in St. Louis County was a full-service architectural and interior design project. Outstanding teamwork and unity among our design teams, the homeowners, the builder and various skilled craftsmen brought to life the unique vision our client desired. Throughout all design phases the homeowners incorporated their own personality and were open to daring color, pattern and texture concepts.
The custom home design features a striking architectural style, characterized by a bold interplay of materials and contrasting colors. The entrance is marked by a prominent arched doorway with a dark, intricate metal door, adding a touch of classic elegance. The facade is primarily clad in light-colored, textured brick, creating a warm and inviting base. Contrasting this is a dark gray Tudor paneling that covers the upper levels and prominent gabled sections, adding a dramatic and contemporary edge. Mixing painted masonry and paneling with horizontal splits for the home's exterior creates a rich, modern look and allows blending Tudor Revival elements with modern design. The modern entry stair tower with extended overhangs, along with timber window headers and decorative timber brackets unify the two design elements in a contemporary twist.
Window selection was a significant design consideration, featuring black frames that stand out against both the brick and the dark siding. A variety of window styles were implemented, including large, multi-pane windows that extend vertically, bringing ample natural light into the stair tower and interior. Smaller, more traditional windows were also utilized, maintaining a balanced aesthetic.
