The interior design of this custom modern Italian villa was carried out concurrently with our architectural design process to unite exceptional exterior and interior elements into a cohesive package. With the homeowner’s vast range of interests, selecting a design focus was an interesting development and finding ways to cohesively blend design styles was an exciting challenge for our interior design team.
Large-format porcelain tile flooring connects the home’s interior to outdoor living space, creating a flow from the main living area to the lanai and pool deck. Level, uninterrupted flooring required recessed door tracks to achieve a flush threshold between the home’s interior and exterior lanai.
The focal wall of the main living area is flanked by a pair of tall double doors. Black granite from floor to ceiling draws attention to the see-through fireplace below the dual video screens to show moving art and entertainment. The living area’s ceiling programmable tray lighting complements the artistic character of hanging hand-blown glass discs. Curved sectionals are situated directly under these hanging works of art.
The kitchen is uniquely designed in a black and white palette with special features, including a custom mural backsplash focal wall behind the cook range, a custom overhead light fixture that doubles as art and dual islands. The grid overhead lighting fixture shares the paint color as walls and hangs from brass straps, matching the brass range hood. The kitchen’s tray ceiling lighting is programmable in both range and color hues.
Distinctive light fixtures (as artwork) are featured throughout the home, including hanging tulip shaped glass fixtures in the master bathroom, which pairs with the uniqueness of shower doors opening to the outside.
